New Islands

<a href="spotify:artist:3HrxafFN1EExPrGx3NV6sv" data-name="New Islands">New Islands</a> is bedroom-pop singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Juan Carlos Virgen Jr. from Rialto, California.

Juan started playing at the age of 4, on a little red piano that came with the song book for The Lion King. The music from Disney’s animated movies and even 90’s cartoon theme songs were what caught his attention. Latin Oldies, 80s freestyle and 90’s Hip Hop were among some of the genre’s Juan grew up listening to. Jamming out with friends, playing in bands and having fun with music was an everyday thing in his school day&#39;s.

In 2019 Juan released his single <a href="spotify:track:1EKjWB19F4gsl1GWJYpsML" data-name="Bloom">Bloom</a> for the first time ever as solo artist, New Islands. The singles release had a great response in the Bedroom Pop scene. His second single <a href="spotify:album:11a7SpvHlIqwBx4IO2L6i6" data-name="Holy Smokes">Holy Smokes</a> was featured on Spotify’s Lo-Fi Indie playlist and third single <a href="spotify:album:5hhjEBtL5p4JnuHN65Byxb" data-name="Let&#39;s Jam, Girl">Let&#39;s Jam, Girl</a> had fan’s dancing and it even inspired a couple of song cover’s. New Islands debut <a href="spotify:playlist:5NvPfCDBECIHc6IdM47kYk" data-name="Bloom E.P">Bloom E.P</a> released on all streaming platforms January 31, 2020 and featured all 3 singles. New Islands has since been releasing music and even playing shows!
