Based in Turin, Italy, Niagara is the collaborative project of musicians/producers Davide Tomat ( Tomat / Tomat Petrella / SPIME.IM ) and Gabriele Ottino ( SPIME.IM) . Erratic and spontaneous, the band often takes an improvisational approach to songwriting and recording, combining elements of electronica, psychedelia, and experimental pop. In 2012, they signed with U.K. indie Monotreme Records to release their self-titled debut EP which was based on the 1953 Marilyn Monroe film that inspired the band's name. Their first LP, Otto, followed in 2013 and was again conceptually oriented with the songs and artwork all based on the number 8. They quickly followed up in 2014 with their second album, Don't Take It Personally, a set inspired by themes of relating technology to nature. Don't Take It Personally Remixes came out in 2015 featuring remixes from Fennesz, Liars, Gonjasufi, Acid Pauli and many others.
