My name is Nicolas Josef Seguin. I was born in London, England in October of 1999. So far -- in the second millennium -- Toronto has been my home. When I was nine, I started guitar lessons with David Puzak, a member of Toronto-based band Running Red Lights. By thirteen I was writing songs and busking in the Annex. It was an incredible charge...people stopping, listening, paying. I spent four years at Rosedale Heights School of The Arts learning all things you shouldn’t do in high school. I learned one valuable lesson: anything I do has to come from within, and it has to be true. My musical influences are diverse, from the soaring themes of Hans Zimmer and the synth symphonies of Muse to the soul of Ed Sheeran and the story-telling of Hawksley Workman. Hip-hop, EDM and Bill Evans all played supporting roles. Sessions with rappers and R&B masters like David Puzak, my ongoing guru, have laid the groundwork for my own recordings. I hope your ears like what they hear.
