A bit of an Ocean Beach, Calif. all-star band, The Big Scene is made up of members of seminal cowpunk band The Screamin YeeHaws, the Whisky Dicks and The Night Owl Massacre.
Nick Bone, frontman for The Screamin YeeHaws has reunited with original YeeHaws bassist Jimmy Dean to form The Big Scene. Remaining friends and writing partners since Jimmy’s departure from the band, it was simply TIME. The fellas debut performance was Mar 7th, 2012 while opening for Joe Buck Yourself. They burned the joint accordingly.
After a brief hiatus the boys are back with a new rhythm section, a new EP and a full-length. Keeping the spirit of original members Ritchie Orduño Jr., Dirty Steve and Martin Robles, the country rock sound has been impacted by lead guitarist Tony “Snacks” Rigatoni, bassist Ells Eastwood and drummer Clay “CP” Conway Nick and Jimmy’s Southern roots combined with the punk n funk stylings of the new lineup have produced some fire in the studio and soon to be burning up stages all over Southern California.
