Nick Brown

Nick is from Newport, South Wales & has been a self-taught musician since the age of 14.
He recorded his debut album himself, at home, without the use of any professional studios.
‘You Couldn’t Make It Up!’ was originally released in April 2010, purely to a local audience on CD.
The streamed version was re-mastered by Nick & released in 2022.

All 15 songs were written by Nick, covering his wife, Dad, name, mess, a parking space, graveyard, honeymoon meal, strange bass playing experience, drunken meeting with Jim Marshall, Caribbean buses, US thunderstorms, sleeping in a chicken coup, being detained by US border guards, attending the wrong funeral & getting stranded in LA during the Rodney King riots.

“One thing that virtually every song I have ever written has in common is that rather than being imaginary situations, they are all true stories.”
“These songs are not meant to be commercially successful and certainly not meant to be taken seriously. They are simply meant to be fun, tongue-in-cheek accounts of various experiences I have had during my life.”


Following this, two EPs were released in 2023:

'Lockdown Observations' -
Again recorded by Nick, at home, with the lyrics describing exactly what the title suggests

and

'Tennessee Tapes' -
Three songs recorded in Tennessee, USA, including one at the legendary 'SUN Studio'.

Throughout all these releases, the lyrics will often put a smile on the face of anyone who follows the stories.
