Nicson is a distributor and creator of left-field house & techno music.
By pulling out rare vinyl records and plucking out cassettes from the shelves of his father’s record store in Seville from the age of six, Nicson began craving to always hear something new. In 1996, he and his friend bought a record player each and shared the cost of a simple mixer so they could learn to mix jungle, trip-hop, house and anything else they could find.
Whilst the equipment stayed the same for the next five years, his DJing skills helped him quickly progress from playing in the bedroom to playing at some of the best clubs in Spain. While the production side saw 2006 as the launch of Nicson’s own imprint, Flumo Recordings, a leading label and source of Spanish and international artist talent which remains one of the key labels in Seville.
After a move to London, a shift took place from focusing on the label to spending more time on his own productions and musical creativity. This burst of creativity, motivation and focus has led to releases with DVS1´s imprint Mistress Recordings, Get Physical and Holic Trax. On his current release schedule, he has upcoming releases on Pets Recordings, Anma Recordings, Riverette Music and London´s based Third Ear Recordings. Nicson’s musical works often feature warm, moody acid tones that sit alongside funk-filled bass-lines that are heavily influenced by early Chicago House sound.
