German producers <a href="spotify:artist:4Z322o7DtQO1XNZ8D61Mos">Christopher Bleckmann</a> and Hannes Wenner began releasing material as Niederflur in 2001 with a trio of minimal techno EPs on <a href="spotify:artist:3AhwIUus3pIaA3CvYBEtpy">Richie Hawtin</a>'s M_nus label. Named after the vehicle that is used to travel through the U-Bahn, the subway system that runs through their home base of Cologne, the two producers incorporated the ambient sounds created by it -- including voices from the PA system -- into their crisp, hypnotic compositions.
