Niji is a multifaceted artist and producer with over 15 years of experience in music production, 20 years as a guitarist, and a decade as a DJ. His unique sound blends influences from goth industrial, drum and bass, tech metal, and synthwave, reflecting a life deeply inspired by cyberpunk culture and alternative subgenres.
From an early age, Niji immersed himself in the world of cult films and cyberpunk ideology, embracing the ethos of “low life, high tech.” A rebellious spirit in the early 2000s, he explored hacking and activism with friends, inspired by figures like Julian Assange. This countercultural upbringing shaped his artistic journey and music, which draws on acts like Grendel, Komor Kommando, VNV Nation, Left Spine Down, KMFDM, Leftover Crack, and The Rabble.
Niji’s passion for storytelling and world-building led to the creation of Dystopia Records LLC, a label born from years of creative exploration and the life-changing experience of becoming a parent. His debut album Prototype Theory, six years in the making, is accompanied by a graphic novel of the same title that introduces “N1J1,” an escaped AI affectionately called “Niji.” Together, they weave a rich narrative universe that invites listeners into a dystopian world where music and storytelling collide.
