Freitas's 11th Album "Cheer Up, Cadiz" is due out 6/12/24 on His own Poppy Peak label. Written, performed, produced, and mixed by Nik at his Poppy Peak studio in Monterey Park, CA "Cheer Up, Cadiz" plays like a concept album centered around the album's cover artwork drawn by Ian Felice of the Felice Brothers. "I wrote the title track for the guy in Ian's drawing because he looked so sad, but in reality, the song is about me," says Freitas "I've been making solo records for 22 years now, and honestly, with not a lot of commercial success, but I don't really care anymore, It's my art, I love to make songs and i have to keep making them. The entire album is kind of a pep talk to myself, and if people listen to the record, hopefully they can relate to the same feelings in their own lives"
