Nikita (Ya-Han) Tu-Bryant is a Taiwan-born multi-disciplinary Artist based in Aotearoa. She is one of the headline acts this year for New Zealand’s biggest stage spectacle “World of Wearable Arts”.
This year she will be releasing her first release as a solo Artist since 2016, having been awarded a NZONAIR grant for her upcoming bilingual single “Chasing Summer” a collab with An Ogre.
In the music realm, Tu-Bryant is known for being the front-woman of Poneke-based psych-pop trio KITA. They toured their 3rd release “Love Lives Here” EP end of 2023, produced by Tommasso Colliva an Italian-based Grammy-award producer (MUSE, RAZORLIGHT). This release came after a summer of touring playing main stage at SPLORE, as well as their debut appearance at WOMAD, and other Festivals throughout Aotearoa. KITA also opened the GREENPEACE at GLASTONBURY virtual festival that occurred during lockdown when Glastonbury Festival could not go ahead.
Tu-Bryant is currently finishing the most ambitious work of her career to date, a 4-part film titled LOVE LIVES HERE, inspired by the band’s latest EP. Not only is Tu-Bryant the main writer and director for her latest work, she is also the main producer and actor in the film, and one of the two composers for the film. This project is intended to be finished by 2025 to be toured at Film, Art and Music Festivals.
