Nikki & the Waves self-dubbed ‘the band you want to bring home to your parents’ are a group unashamed to be referred to as pop. They create a unique blend of floating melodies, tasteful chords and smooth grooves. The band itself consist of Nikki Milla (Amsterdam-born front women) who met her fellow band mates; Tom Want (drums) and Tom Bonez (multi-instrumentalist) around 2019 in Liverpool, sharing the same passion the ABBA Gold album and Calvin Harris’ 2009 discography.
After the success of their Summer 2020 single ‘Shirts’, produced by James Skelly (Blossoms, The Coral ) and Winter 2020's "Anywhere" the band has gone from strength to strength; releasing cooking shows (‘Nikki Noodles’), podcasts and collaborations with the likes of aron , Zach Bahn and Spilt Milk Society.
Most recently Nikki appeared on Artists United Collective cover of ‘All Together Now’ to support the Save Our Venues movement. Unfortunately, due to well documented circumstances, the band have not been able to showcase the music they have been creating during the nationwide lockdown. This is all changed when they got to play live again late 2021, securing slots at Liverpool's SoundCity and Ilse Of Wight Festival alongside headline shows in Liverpool, Manchester and Chester. In combination with the anticipated release of a double B-Side cassette tape, aptly named "at the c-side", Nikki & the Waves are well prepared to make – for a lack of a better word - waves in the coming year.
