Nikl is an English electronic music producer, multi instrumentalist and vocalist. Predominantly, Nikl makes Future Bass and Lo-fi Hip hop but mixes many genres to create a compelling and unique sound.
Nikl started producing music at the end of 2018 and released Memoir, a future bass track that explores how our lives are often more complicated than our narratives. Memoir was stumbled upon by the senior editor of HBT magazine who said ‘Its very unique, the mixing is on point and it’s actually one of the best tracks we have heard in a while and that’s coming from someone who listens to lots of tracks!’
Nikl is from a heavily musical background where, with various current and previous projects, supported some big names including Kool and the Gang, Shakatak, Uroy, Eek a Mouse and Asian Dub Foundation. After some years of pushing his Acoustic solo singer songwriter project with the use of a loop pedal to create a larger live sound, he wanted to go even further and started his journey as an electronic music producer. After seeing what Mad Zach could do with an Ableton Push Nikl focused more on fully produced live productions and controllerism.
Right now Nikl is concentrating on being as prolific as possible and will soon be releasing more future bass and lofi hip hop music. Also Nikl is collaborating with other producers and vocalists and will be releasing his first collab this summer called ‘Why Am I Here’ featuring vocalist K Hurl.
