Nilson Dourado is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, born in São Paulo, Brazil. Graduated in viola caipira (Brazilian folk guitar - ten strings) at EMESP, he brings in his baggage influences from Brazilian music, jazz and world music. Besides his home country he has performed in Japan, USA, El Salvador, France, Spain, Norway, Italy, Austria, Algeria, United Arab Emirates and Portugal where he currently resides.
In his trajectory, he has already worked, between studios and stages, with artists such as Virgínia Rodrigues, Tiganá Santana, Susana Travassos, Pierre Aderne, Moacyr Luz, Eugénia Melo e Castro, Celina Da Piedade, Joana Amendoeira, Fred Martins, Maria João, among many others. He is a member of the Rua Das Pretas project.
In 2012 he released his debut album, "Sabiá", where he presents part of his creative universe. He has composed and produced music for dance, theatre and cinema, in addition to signing the musical production of some albums between Brazil and Portugal. Nilson's new album, “Silêncio”, released between 2022 and 2023, was very well received by the public and critics, even though it is a more conceptual and intimate proposal. This is a record of songs, but not only that, as it carries within it a plot of sensorial experience.
