Nimco Happy –full name Nimco Elmi Ali -is another unsuspecting viral sensation. Her single ‘Isii Nafta’ is blowing up on TikTok and is close to reaching 100,000 creations on the app. As well as loads of support from TikTok users, many high-profile celebrities have taken to social media to share the insanely catchy song. These celebrities include the likes of,Chunkz,Stefflon Don,Amine,Bella Hadidand Cardi B. Inthe song that has the internet in a metaphorical chokehold, Nimco sings about loving someone in not one, not two but four different languages: English, Arabic, Swahili and Somali, giving it mass global appeal.Born to Kenyan and Somali parents -but raised in Kenya, Nimco Happy is a mother of two who has been making music for over half a decade now. When asked what the song is about, she said “It’s a song about love and bringing people happiness”. Judging from the reaction from social media, it’s safe to say that she has accomplished her goal. When she first went viral people were sending her videos from TikTok of people enjoying the song, but she never thought much of this and didn’t realise how global she had gone.
