Nina Leo

Nina Leo found her calling when she got gifted an acoustic guitar at age 12. Growing up in Australia's capital city Ngambri/Canberra, Nina Leo was self-raised on the endless string of classic rock icons; Suzi Quatro, Stevie Nicks, Bon Jovi, Tom Petty, The Eagles, Pat Benatar and much more.

As she began translating old poems into songs, her songwriting inspirations came through the likes of many indie folk artists; Adrianna Lenker, Carole King, Bon Iver, Alice Phoebe Lou, Angie McMahon. Unable to pick sides between her opposite musical musings, Nina Leo was truly born with the artist name rising from the lucky draw of placing her middle name and star sign together.

With a growing list of inspirations and finding hidden messages in alternate guitar tunings while spending time going down the rabbit holes of old-school MTV music videos, polar-opposite singles ‘Recover’ and ‘Break The Renegade’ were the first two singles to be released from the anticipated independently Debut EP ‘Fake It’ in 2021. A local favourite amongst touring artists Nina grew her audience by supporting larger local and interstate bands such as Carla Geneve, Moaning Lisa, DUST, The Terrys and Bones and Jones.
