Nine Page Apology was a band that started with a few friends that just wanted to write and play music together in 1999. Ryan Trader and Ryan Tidwell started writing together when they brought on Jason Barbato to play bass (formerly of Point of Recognition). Soon after, Jason brought a guitar player over named Mikey Griffith. Eventually the four would go on to play local shows and record a 4 song EP (Worth It All). The song, “Worth It All” was featured on a compilation with P.O.D., Point of Recognition, Twothirtyeight, and others under a 316 Records release and had mild radio play.
After the recording of “Worth It All”, Dustin Lovelis joined the band and helped shape the sound even further. The band continued to play more local shows with Finch, Sugarcult and El Domino.
Eventually, Barbato and Griffith stepped down and Jared Valencia came aboard to play bass while Justin Schultz joined as the lead guitarist.
The five-piece band released their second and final EP, “Falls Like Rain”, and played more shows at The Roxy, The Whiskey and some college campuses.
The song, “Falls Like Rain” was featured on a compilation under Spark recordings.
The band broke up in 2002.
