Adrian Armstrong, also known as NJUNE, is a multidisciplinary creative from Omaha, NE. Although he is trained as a fine artist, NJUNE has always had an interest in many different mediums of self expression. He started his music journey in December of 2018 experimenting with production in Garageband and over time, moving into and experimenting with other DAWs. After dropping a beat tape entitled, An Unmixed and Unmastered Summer In Nebraska, NJUNE decided to play around with vocals and try his hand at rapping on his own beats. This led to his next project, High’s and Lo-fi’s, which was a collaborative EP made alongside drawings in a traveling solo art show of the same name (first introduced at Co-Lab Projects in Austin, TX).
Just like in his fine art work, NJUNE is interested in story telling and being the voice for the everyday person. His music is heavily inspired by the soul music that played in his childhood home and artists such as: Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Marvin Gaye, The GAP Band, and more. He aims to push his own creative boundaries without fear or influence from outside sources and to mold the two worlds of art and music.
