New Zealand rapper/producer duo, NO COMPLY take their music seriously, but themselves, not so much. Their music is bold and considered, yet they infuse a playful and melodic take on the rapidly changing, forever evolving, genre we know and love as hip hop.
The Auckland-based brothers adopted their group name about skate and street culture, preaching a message of the importance of questioning the norm, and having the confidence to challenge and defy boundaries.
Being brothers, the pair both have their own musical tastes and preferences that run deep into the veins of many genres. Each draw inspiration from many different styles, which they say only strengthens their ability to write and perform music together. They also say that they draw a lot of inspiration directly from each other, as brothers and as friends.
Both picked up instruments at an early age and have since continued to pursue a life where music is used as a first language, a way to develop and express ideas. Whether it's a message or a feeling, music has been, and will always be, an outlet and a way to express their inner thoughts.
