Founded in April 2019, No Elevator is a rock band from Paris, France with influences from the early 00s such as <a href="spotify:artist:4pejUc4iciQfgdX6OKulQn" data-name="Queens of the Stone Age">Queens of the Stone Age</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7Ln80lUS6He07XvHI8qqHH" data-name="Arctic Monkeys">Arctic Monkeys</a> or <a href="spotify:artist:7jy3rLJdDQY21OgRLCZ9sD" data-name="Foo Fighters">Foo Fighters</a> for the most known, but also with a modern indie rock vibe, probably coming from listening too much to bands like <a href="spotify:artist:677sHrkjhB7IP4YwjzZyc4" data-name="Last Dinosaurs">Last Dinosaurs</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:39v5154nNeWJGatKDkLGu9" data-name="Greer">Greer</a> or <a href="spotify:artist:1Rxe2OboMb1Bx2n49182AJ" data-name="Stoop Kids">Stoop Kids</a>.
After playing their first show on the 20th of February 2020, the band had to cancel all of their next gigs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Given an unexpected amount of free time, they used it to keep on writing new songs, practice and record what would become their very first full-length album: <a href="spotify:album:3Htt3YPxx5XD0sHidxrtmg" data-name="Ground Floor">Ground Floor</a>.
Released on January 26th 2022, this album has been recorded and mixed in Paris at UFO Studio, with the owner and sound engineer Alexandre Mazarguil, chosen after hearing his work with the local Paris punk scene, with bands like <a href="spotify:artist:7JVEe7dW62EeMOrMwmwG68" data-name="Lion's Law">Lion's Law</a> (<a href="spotify:album:5h9PuOS3t2mevchQ0p9ORL" data-name="A Day Will Come">A Day Will Come</a>), <a href="spotify:artist:4Gu1AKRngi6lg1wwfN1wjG" data-name="Squelette">Squelette</a> (<a href="spotify:album:7kUMVlrTAEqalVp3WGpNMy" data-name="Aux bons amis">Aux bons amis</a>), <a href="spotify:artist:3vEXPurCckdCGEIEkZauu3" data-name="Bromure">Bromure</a> (<a href="spotify:album:7ycGuGuarmGFZHWIB5x4Jo" data-name="A la roquette">A la roquette</a>), <a href="spotify:artist:6p19nfMD6wf63mkV3Zd0Ha" data-name="hardxtimes">hardxtimes</a> (<a href="spotify:album:48sPYJvjXQMRfukBm2HDON" data-name="La Violence">La Violence</a>) and many more.
The lyrics of this first project cover various themes, such as cliché love stories, finding your place when being far from home, or struggling to finish a creative project while being held back by personal or worldwide problems.
We hope you will enjoy our music, and if you do, come dance with us live some day 🌞
