No Shields developed the theory that minds could surely be melted with a few rigorous guitar riffs, a flood of thumping bass, and a relentless thunderous rhythm. It isn’t rocket science, but it is definitely rock music, played with conviction and a sheer love of the kind of sound that can be felt inside your bones. Continuing on some spectrum of post-post-punk, their music is aggressive but also hypnotic and at times even melodic. But theory is just theory and No Shields doesn’t claim to have any answers. They’re having too much fun playing music.
