No Spinoza is Thomas Pearson, a musician and poet from the north-east of England. His work concerns history, buildings and places.
His first album ‘Vessels’ (2010) features flutes, buzzing synths, complex rhythms and stories from the city. ‘All and some’ (2016) is a set of traditional melodies, many centuries old, arranged for the modern ear with electronic beats and white noise.
His third album ‘Maxim’ (2022), a collaboration with Drew Worthley, is a collection of reimagined nursery rhymes. Featured on BBC 6 Music and in session on BBC York.
“Enchanting… stellar… charming songwriting and uniquely powerful production. I’ve never heard anything quite like it.” – Obscure Sound
