No Thoughts No Gravity comprises of singer Justyna Salamon and guitarist Phil Hudson. For live gigs, the duo is joined by drummer/producer Spiros Maus.
The two met by coincidence. After moving to London, Justyna was studying hard and struggling to make ends meet. She had found herself a job working as a child-minder. There was nothing particularly remarkable about the house where she worked, apart from the fact that the place was full of guitars and recording equipment - it was Phil’s house!
The two started chatting about music and eventually Justyna played a demo that she had recorded in Poland. Phil was blown away by Justyna’s demo and rushed to play her some of the rough ideas he’d recorded. After this, the duo decided to work together as a band.
Combining elements of folk, lounge and rock over sophisticated dance beats and emotionally charged soundscapes, No Thoughts No Gravity create darkly melancholic, deep music reminiscent of ocean sunsets, bittersweet parties and the movies of David Lynch. Their influences include William Orbit, Bjork, Norah Jones, Etta James, John Barry and The Carpenters.
