Melbourne based band, No Vacancy is on the steady rise in indie, rock and pop circles in Australia and overseas. Having been formed in the Doncaster/Surrey Hills area, Jimmy Smith (Lead Vocals), Jordan Murphy (Drums) and Will Ricker (Lead guitar) began playing music at school and on the weekends, mimicking the styles they heard on radio and TV.
After reuniting with childhood friend Patrick McAlary (Rhythm guitar), Jordan suggested he join the band as their musical influences were similar and the band needed an extra guitar to create a fuller sound in a live setting. In early 2019, No Vacancy developed their playing style by practicing classic Australian covers such as Australian Crawl, The Angels and Cold Chisel. Growing bored of practicing in Jordan's garage, No Vacancy signed up to their school's live show at the end of the year, initially suggested by one of Jimmy's close friends.
At that show, No Vacancy performed "What's My Scene" originally written by Australian pop-rock band Hoodoo Gurus along with an original piece. Much to the bands surprise, the performance produced praise and gave the band motivation to produce their first track "Runner" with the help of new band member Mitch Dobson (Bass, Keys). Now, with the upcoming release of "Future Rock" No Vacancy is more keen than ever to impress and bring new music to Melbourne and the world.
