Nokki Cabrera is a Cuban American singer, songwriter, model and actress who was born on April 11, 2000 in Miami. She was born to immigrant parents that fled to America in 1994 during Fidel Castro‘s reign. Through hard work and perseverance, Nokki’s parents were able to give her and her brother a life different from theirs while instilling the culture and values they were raised with in Cuba.
Nokki’s musical influence came from her childhood: She grew up in a house with Spanish-speaking parents and often listened to Latin artists such as Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, and Gloria Estefan to name a few. As Nokki Cabrera began singing as a child, she used her diverse upbringing to incorporate into her artistry and style of music. The name Cabrera came from her mother's maiden name, as she effortlessly embraces her Cuban Heritage.
As America provided assistance to refugees from Cuba, her parents were relocated to New Mexico where Nokki attended grade school, learned English, and ultimately found her passion for singing and performing. By the time she was in high school, her family moved back to Florida where she attended Spoto High School and honed her musical skills and became a first chair flute player.
Nokki’s music is a combination of Cuban salsa, American pop, and southern hip-hop trap undertones. Her keen sense of fashion and sweet personality has already won fans over of all ages and backgrounds, and she’s here to claim her title as the princess of trap salsa
