Nolan Potter's Nightmare Band

Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band is an eclectic brainchild of musical innovation crafted by composer, bandleader, and multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Nolan Potter. Founded in 2018, the group flourished within the Austin, Texas live music scene as they captured a sound rife with raw passion and palpable symphonic scholarship. Their debut album Nightmare Forever (2019) garnered widespread praise, with John Dwyer of The Oh Sees lauding the work as “conceptual in feel and flow” with a war machine duality that “surpasses expectations and fucking crushes.” Following the release of their sophomoric album Music is Dead (2021), the ensemble experienced a lineup change in Spring 2022 following disagreements on the direction of the band and some member’s desires to pursue other artistic opportunities. The reinvigorated lineup cultivates an expanded range of sound that is bolstered by the experimentalism and jazz specializations of its new members: Dillon Fernandez (Holy Wave), Raze Regal (Once and Future Band), Sam Blomgren (Dodo), and Cole Koenning (Dodo).
The quintet have hosted two vinyl releases with Castle Face Records, whom they have been affiliated with since 2018. Additionally, they have been partnered with the booking agency Anniversary Group since 2021 and have previously done releases with Mas Music Records and UK label Library of the Occult.
