25 year studio vet, Norbz is out of Toronto ON Canada and operates as a hybrid producer + artist + label.
It's hard to describe my journey as it's been quite abstract and touches almost ever area of art + music + business. I own my own label, operate as many artist names/aliases, collab with others often, remix a lot of ppls catalogs, have my own lucrative catalog spread across many genres topping 10K tracks, have developed over 25 music production software tools, 14K samples, and do hundreds of millions of streams a year across all my outreach.
That was a mouthful! It's been an amazing journey and I feel blessed to be able to participate in todays DIY eco-system as it has allowed me to free myself from the chains attached to yesteryears music success formulas and having to deal with shady contracts and labels out there.
I grew up listening to and producing hip hop, rnb, reggae, house, jungle, edm, now I produce pretty much anything I feel like producing that day. This includes movie scores, remixing official oldies, orchestral, solfeggio/meditation sacred tuning tones, foley/nature recordings, and other things I never thought I'd be touching in our world. After 25 years I guess I've done so much that even producing some country and rock is now exciting for me as there isn't too many 'new' things left for me sans genres I've never challenged myself with.
I feel my way through music, and I produce my butt off daily. I also drink way too much coffee, and love life :).
