North Wei

North Wei is a music project from a small individual with a big artistic vision. The colours, scenery, and atmosphere surrounding the artist are what bring words on the paper and sound to the music. The Bergen-based artist is also here as a human being, learning which path in life is meant for him and treasuring every meaningful moment along the way.
Over the past few years, he has been surrounded by creative minds who brought him into their worlds through visuals and sound. This inspired North Wei to create a world and soundscape of his own. Dedicating two years of his life to study music production in order to become an experienced artist, he became deeply attached to the sounds of retro synthesizers and drum machines, as well as genres like synthpop, synthwave, and indietronica.
Artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:1oPRcJUkloHaRLYx0olBLJ" data-name="Magdalena Bay">Magdalena Bay</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3AA28KZvwAUcZuOKwyblJQ" data-name="Gorillaz">Gorillaz</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6M2wZ9GZgrQXHCFfjv46we" data-name="Dua Lipa">Dua Lipa</a>, and The Weeknd painted an inspiring picture for him with their modern take on classic music genres. The sound of their music lives rent-free in his head.
