Forming as a recording project by vocalist and guitarist Sam Cook who self produced their first EP 'Nervous Energies'. Alongside Steve Haddock (Bass) and Jack Gregory (Drums) the unit have caught the ears BBC Radio 1, Kerrang! Radio and Total Rock Radio gaining national airplay with singles 'Simple Narratives', 'Distraction Or Cure' and 'Every High'.

Northern Captives continue to focus heavily on progressing their craft of song writing and recording. Whilst touring in their previous projects <a href="spotify:artist:1BgjHizo9oi2L23AzhAy0G" data-name="Bad Ideas">Bad Ideas</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4Dom6JAoHhVJDQDXTsxIG5" data-name="The Living Daylights">The Living Daylights</a> both well known in the UK and European punk and indie scenes. Members have shared stages with <a href="spotify:artist:29lz7gs8edwnnfuXW4FhMl" data-name="Against Me!">Against Me!</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:168dgYui7ExaU612eooDF1" data-name="Brand New">Brand New</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4V8KzbYf5He65uNJduxX6l" data-name="Arliss Nancy">Arliss Nancy</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7qbvNcfTfckhCNM8NiR8nN" data-name="Joyce Manor">Joyce Manor</a>, whilst appearing at Leeds &amp; Reading Festival, Groezrock and Manchester Punk Festival.

NORTHERN CAPTIVES are twisting and intricately weaving Alt-Rock with Indie, Emo, Punk and Post-Hardcore into a truly unique sound and form. Drawing comparisons to <a href="spotify:artist:168dgYui7ExaU612eooDF1" data-name="Brand New">Brand New</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:40Yq4vzPs9VNUrIBG5Jr2i" data-name="The Smashing Pumpkins">The Smashing Pumpkins</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7bu3H8JO7d0UbMoVzbo70s" data-name="The Cure">The Cure</a> &#43; <a href="spotify:artist:4DUQBYAyOTZotSEdKhaf6c" data-name="Basement">Basement</a>.

Early 2024 saw the band release their debut album &#39;DIZZY&#39;.
