NOT THE TWOS is the alternative/psychedelic music project of Tim Maxey. In the recording studio, Maxey writes, records, performs, and produces all of the project's music.
Maxey originally conceived the project in the later end of 2020. Prior to this, Maxey has written and produced songs for artists such as Earthgang, Fana Hues, Baby Rose and Summer Walker. However it wasn't until 2022 while working on his album, that he was would find his work on Kendrick Lamar's 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers', which was nominated for Album of the Year, and won Best Rap Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2023. The album featured Not the Twos song 'Paradise' as a theme throughout the project, first opening up the album from the very first song, 'United in Grief'.
NOT THE TWOS since then have released a couple of singles 'Paradise' and 'HAHA' ahead of their forthcoming album "A GIRL THAT SOLD DRUGS" scheduled for the Spring of 2024.
