Born and raised in Northern Louisiana, Damon Campbell (NoTuX aka Blue Magic) was influenced at an early age by video games and, more specifically, the soundtracks from those games. He discovered an online community called OverClocked ReMix (OCR) where artists from all over the world came together to show love and pay tribute to the many composers of the video game soundtracks we have come to know and love. With the encouragement of the OCR community, Damon became an artist himself and began to hone his musical skill with heavy influences from various jazz and hip-hop artist. Damon also broaden his musical horizons even when he discovered more worldly artist like Nujabes, Dubmatrix, Snarky Puppy, Nitin, Sawhney, and many more.
Now, Damon is what is know and a VGM remixer, where he is using all of those various influences to create new music that pays homage to the game developers and music composers that helped make his childhood wonderful. He has created many different songs in different genres, that convey different emotions in hopes of reaching a broader audience and helping people recall the feelings of nostalgia where life was not as busy and complicated. He hopes to become a composer himself, and make new friends that also have a love for video game music.
