NOZ is a trio based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Somewhere between song and instrumental music, between the acoustic and the digital, composition and improvisation, we mix numerous influences into a hybrid, fresh and alternative pop-rock.
NOZ dates back to 2012, when Bernardo Palmeirim and Ricardo Martins completed an artistic residency in Barcelona, where there were living at the time. In 2015 they released their first LP, NOZ2, after which, in 2016, bass player Gonçalo Castro joined the duo, forming the current trio. In 2022 they released Powehi, their 2nd LP.
Bernardo Palmeirim started The Grey Blues Bend (2003-2005), and in 2008 'nome comum' with his sister Madalena, a 4-member acoustic project of original Portuguese songs. Gonçalo Castro played with AbztraQt Sir Q and nome comum. Ricardo Martins is a member of Jibóia, Pop Dell’Arte, Cangarra, Adorno, Papaya and a couple more bands. He’s also played with I Had Plans, Asneira and the guitar/drums duo Lobster.
