Like all good bands, they started in the garage! Having met in primary school, Joe Smith and Josh Lines started playing together, rehearsing in Joe’s garage. Luke Lines, Josh’s younger brother, joined them soon after. By the time they’d finished primary school, they had a full band, Number 38, and started writing their own songs and gigging in secondary school. After some changes in the line-up over a few years, and playing many local gigs, they met Toby Taylor at music college. Since then they have been gigging around the south of the UK, building a reputation for an unforgettable live show!
Number 38 have recently been in the studio recording new material and are set to release multiple singles over the coming months, and an EP in the summer, while continuing to take their bluesy riffs around the country. Starting with the band’s debut single ‘Take My Blues Away’, released on the 25th of January 2020.
