NUN is a four-piece synth band, formed in Melbourne in 2011. Their sound flows from hyperkinetic synth-punk to saturated new wave worship, with Jenny Branagan’s formidable vocals ranging from sweet 1980s pop, detached gothic intonation and terrifying screams.
NUN’s aesthetic sense penetrates every aspect of the band, resulting in a remarkably cohesive vision. The music is danceable, fun and aggressive with an overwhelming sense of dread looming just beneath the scintillating pop surface.
NUN’s debut album was released on three continents in 2014 to worldwide critical acclaim. The Dome is their highly anticipated follow-up, due on Aarght Records in November 2018.
