OAA is the alias of AJ Wilson, a Los Angeles-based producer of noisy, postindustrial techno. His solo releases, including 2021's Contracted Reality, cloak tense, jittery beats in blankets of distortion. His 2022 collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:1VFYpTpgmp7ANXqok2dTg3" data-name="The Body">The Body</a>, Enemy of Love, adds a sharp electronic edge to the band's dense, uncompromising sound.
He started producing electronic music as OAA, blending '90s techno and industrial influences. He released TEAR 015, a cassette of five tracks recorded live, in 2018. He contributed a techno mix of "Adamah" to <a href="spotify:artist:1VFYpTpgmp7ANXqok2dTg3" data-name="The Body">The Body</a>'s 2019 release Remixed. OAA's Devoid of Spirit, Addicted to Fantasy and Anosognosia, both recorded by Seth Manchester at Providence studio Machines with Magnets, appeared in 2020, and 2021's Contracted Reality was recorded at the same studio. OAA's first full-length collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:1VFYpTpgmp7ANXqok2dTg3" data-name="The Body">The Body</a>, Enemy of Love, was released by Thrill Jockey in 2022, with <a href="spotify:artist:1i5rlthy5CmAYWaFOB0jhz" data-name="Full Of Hell">Full Of Hell</a>'s Dylan Walker guesting on the song "Barren of Joy." ~ Paul Simpson
