Born in Ikot Abasi Akwa Ibom State, Oba Lurge is a multifaceted creative based in Lagos Nigeria.
His music is a symbol of hope and aspiration, a perfect mix of Hiphop, Afrobeats and Dancehall.
He honed his craft by making covers and working on every instrumental he laid his hands on with record producer St Kay.
He started his imprint Mich Selber Records in 2018 where he signed himself and released 2 eps Mich Selber the Mixtape & Grammy Dreams in January & December of 2019 respectively.
In 2021 he became the first Nigerian rapper to have signed a one year distribution deal with Universal Music Nigeria, he obtained a certificate in Sound Recording & Design for Film & Tv, from Ebonylife Creative Academy in 2022, while in film school he released the self acclaimed Son Of George IV EP, after which he was awarded with the "Best Location Sound" for his contribution on the short film "Last Operation". He also had his record Energy featuring Iyanya placed in the short film "After Party" all by the Academy.
in November 2023, he released his debut album Noble Notes and in March 2025, he released his sophomore album Best Ever
He is currently the first & only Nigerian artiste on board with JAY-Z's Rocnation distribution where he's working on a third album titled One Lagos Boy. Gone Are The Days featuring Duncan Mighty was released May 13th 2025, as part of roll out for the new album. His other interests include film, tech, fashion, radio and podcasting.
