OBÁ MYSTIK is an Afro-House collective born from the vision of Detroit producer Erikk Raphael, weaving ancestral rhythms, hypnotic vocals, and cinematic textures into a sound that transforms the dance floor into ritual. Inspired by Obá, the warrior queen of Yoruba tradition, the group channels her power and resilience through every beat.
The collective features Taye Okonkwo (Synths), Kwame Adeyemi (Percussion & Rhythm Director), Zara Obong (Percussion & Dance), and Amina Kéita (Lead Vocals & Storytelling). Together, they bridge past and future, declaring: “We are the Ancestors. We are the Storytellers.”
Signed to Respawn Detroit Records, OBÁ MYSTIK began in 2025 with Book 1: Kingdom of Shadows and its debut single “Dancing Shadows.” The journey expanded with Book 2: Ashes & Shadows, part of a four-book odyssey of African resilience told through rhythm and voice. Singles like “Kasbah Heat,” “Cedar & Saffron,” “Echoes of Anubis,” and “Children of the Fire” showcase their blend of tradition and futurism.
At the heart of OBÁ MYSTIK’s vision is a declaration: “We will not be erased.” Their music is both celebration and resistance—proof that rhythm is survival, culture is power, and legacy cannot be silenced.
