Obbatuké, are an 8-piece rumba collective led by renowned quinto player Carlos Guerra. The band are mainstays at Santiago de Cuba’s legendary ‘Casa del Caribe’, widely regarded as the epicentre for the Eastern rumba scene. This release acts as a gateway into this rich and diverse cultural heritage; from the fast paced Guaguancó of ‘Biancamo’ to the Yoruba batá toques of ‘Orun Seco’ — a track dedicated to over 20 individual Orishas.
