Initially known as a supporting musician for Sigur Rós and Jónsi, Óbó is the solo project from multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Björn Ólafsson. Hailing from Reykjavik, Iceland, Ólafsson was a prominent figure within his homeland, best known as a percussionist and keyboard player. Ólafsson studied piano and composition in various European cities as well as writing material with the likes of Emiliana Torrini, múm, Sigur Rós, and Jóhann Jóhannsson. Despite his work for other artists, it wasn't until 2014 that he released his own material, the melancholic and ethereal Innhverfi. In the same year, Ólafsson made an appearance at the major Icelandic music festival Iceland Airwaves. ~ James Pearce, Rovi
