Obsidian Monolith was started by Maurizio Piras in 2015, forming into performing band in late 2016. Since their debut, they have released “The Descent” EP in 2018, followed by a 10 track Album “Manifest” in March of 2019. Obsidian Monolith has been playing live since 2017 in the Melbourne’s extreme metal circuit. The band is characterized by a dark and melancholic sound, followed by virtuoso shredding, heavy vocals, fast paced drumming and atmospheric orchestrations. The songs carry a message of negativity towards humanity in which nihilism is a main theme. Obsidian Monolith currently features Maurizio Piras from INVERNO MCMXCII and former Destroyer 666 and current Anatomy drummer Warren Vassallo.
