Obsidian Youth is a music project lead by Giuliano Bruno of Springfield, MO.
As of 2024, this sound was created using Artificial Intelligence programs like Suno. However, the project has already expanded into the use of other software like Audacity, to craft more specific sounds.
Obsidian Youth takes many different genres and blends them together to form tracks that change pace and style dramatically. The juxtaposition of different styles of music can be jarring to some, but Obsidian Youth is a project that appreciates and embraces chaos.
With such a wide range in styles it’s difficult to pin down what genre this music really is. Obsidian Youth would like to introduce the term “polygenre” to help.
Polygenre is a type of music that moves so frequently between styles that one has such difficulty naming it. In this way, other distinctions such as “Dubstep Metal” won’t be used and misread in the case of Obsidian Youth. Moving the needle slightly is all this artist hopes to change, otherwise, have fun listening to the strange and chaotic waves that are O.Y.
