Ödesängen is a Swedish-speaking rock band from Finland, based in Porvoo.
The band consists of Oskar Karlsson (vocals/guitar), Olle Häggblom (keyboard), Niclas Blomqvist (bass), Pontus Johansson (drums), and Alexander Nieminen (guitar).
Four of the band members previously played in a band that went on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. When the members could meet regularly again, the idea of making music in their native language, Swedish, emerged. At the same time a new guitarist was recruited, and the new band Ödesängen was formed. The band’s name originates from a place on the outskirts of Porvoo where the group’s rehearsal studio is located.
Over the past three years, the band has been writing and recording numerous new songs. The songs deal with love, life, the world, and the times we live in. Ödesängen’s debut single, ‘Andetag,’ was released on February 2, 2024.
Ödesängen’s fourth single, ‘Dör för er’, reflects on war and uncertainty in the world and finding comfort and strength in the people who matter most in your life.
