Odysseas Liakos is a London-based composer, orchestrator, and music copyist specialising in orchestral and film music. Originally from Greece, he holds a BA (Hons) in Music (Film Music) from Leeds Conservatoire and currently works as a Music Librarian at the BBC, while freelancing as a copyist for Charts of London, led by Matthew Slater.
He began composing as a self-taught teenager and quickly gained national recognition. At 16, he scored music for Time Machine, one of Greece’s most prominent historical documentary series. Two years later, he received First Prize for Orchestration and Composition in Greece and Cyprus, followed by a national interview on Radio 3 of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation.
Odysseas has studied orchestration under Alastair King, Norman Ludwin, and Nicholas Dodd. He contributed as a copyist to the UAE National Day Concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra—recorded at AIR Studios and performed in Abu Dhabi—and won a participation in the FAMES Institute’s orchestral film scoring workshop, recording his own compositions with a professional orchestra.
His music preparation credits include Alien: Earth, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, The Last Rodeo, and the BAFTA Games Awards with sessions at leading studios including Abbey Road and AIR Studios.
His skill set includes professional score preparation, MIDI to score conversion, and Sibelius engraving, as well as orchestration and composing to picture, with a focus on melodic thematic writing.
