Emerging from the static-laced shadows of late 1990s home recording culture, Of Life is the ever-evolving moniker of electronic music artist Niloc Epil. Beginning with nothing more than a couple of synths, drum machines, and a 4-track recorder, his early works were a study in minimalism and resourcefulness.

Those first albums were tracked straight to cassette: no editing, no signal processing, just raw sound rendered with a deep sense of patience & space. Overdubs were laid on through a stereo system and captured with a single microphone, embracing imperfection & atmosphere as part of the creative language.

All releases have been produced in close collaboration with longtime creative partner coL whose fingerprints can be felt in the textured cohesion of each piece. The sound is often meditative and pulsing: equal parts ambient reflection and rhythmic insistence, inviting listeners inward rather than demanding attention.

Unlike many contemporary artists chasing clicks and clout, Of Life is unconcerned with visibility. Opting instead for a quiet, deliberate existence shaped by the practice of making underground music. A steady unfolding of sound for those willing to find it.
