Oirabot is a small-town experimental rock band from Sylhet that took off in 2016. The name "Oirabot" essentially means "The Elephant". The word "Oirabot" is basically a forgotten one which we only used once in our lives while we were learning our ABCDs ("ঐ" তে ঐরাবত). Now when we see or hear the word it pulls a chord somewhere deep within. Maybe it's the fondness for our childhood. Those golden BTV days, you know if you know.
Oirabot is a group of people that became friends because of their music taste. Mehrab writes the words while Anik-Suny and Saymon come up with groves. Somehow their melodies and words started growing amongst their university circle and over time they were pressured to record these songs.
Oirabot's first single "GuruChandali" was featured in a star-studded mixed album called "The Industry Volume -II" in 2019. The second release "Mohora- The Reunion Song" came out the following year. And here we are!
