Adetola Olaiya Aina aka Olasax is an award winning charismatic soulful saxophonist who originates from Lagos
Nigeria. He started his musical journey as a teen by experimenting with the flute and the
trumpet, but found his niche when he discovered the saxophone (soprano, alto and tenor).
His musical talents progressed as he taught himself how to play the instrument by drawing
from influences such as Kirk Whalum, Fela AnukulapoKuti, Dave Koz, Charlie Parker, Sonny
Rowlands, to name a few.
He was a nationally recognized personality in Nigeria and was invited to perform in events
such as the annual UNICEF concert. In 2006 he relocated to South Africa in an attempt
to broaden his knowledge of the music industry.He then became exposed to and influenced
by different genres and styles of music, both South African and international.
