In How Deep Can We Get, Olafsbjorn asks how close us humans can really get to each other. The song is mastered by Grammy-winning engineer James Auwarter, and has a melancholic sound with heavy bass and repetitive synth, which also draws inspiration from the 2000's pop productions.
Mickey Shiloh provides the vocals on How Deep Can We Get. She was recently picked by Forbes to their prestigious list "30 Under 30 - Music 2019". She is known as a vocalist in collaboration with artists such as Wiz Khalifa and LL Cool J, and has written numerous songs for artists such as Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Cassie.
“The song is based on exploring how humans are different individuals each with our own concept of reality, yet we are drawn to each other in a longing for unity and closeness. How close can we really become - can we become one? As life goes on, I think differently about this today,” says Olafsbjorn.
“This is the first time I have collaborated with a Scandinavian producer. When Olafsbjorn sent me the song, I was in no doubt about whether I would sing it. I love the lyrics and the melody – it's deep, it grabs you as soon as you hear it,” says Mickey Shiloh.
“How deep can we get
How much should we give and take
How close can we get
Before it's fake"
- Chorus
