Old Coast is an indie rock band with southwestern roots, based in Seattle, WA. New to the Pacific Northwest, New Mexicans Luke Dumke (drums) and Nik Singleton (vocals) connected with songwriter and Arizona-native Asher Deaver (vocals/guitar), who had recently released an album titled Manifest. They began performing local shows and were soon joined by violinist/vocalist Jon Berry, lead guitarist Manny Rodriguez, and pedal steel player Skyler Mehal. After releasing several singles, they entered the studio in 2018 to record their first full-length album, Middleman. Recorded both at Studio Litho and Pine Hill Studio, the album quickly gained a small but dedicated following, gaining traction with live shows, festivals, and airplay on local WA radio stations. Shortly after a small tour in support of Middleman, Asher was diagnosed with a returning tumor in the temporal lobe of his brain. Old Coast took a year-long hiatus while Asher underwent radiation and chemotherapy. In August 2019, Old Coast announced their return to live shows and began introducing new material to their performances. In 2020, Luke and Nik parted ways with the band to focus on their new project, Midnight High. Joined by bassist Rick Sifuentes and drummer Sam Veatch, Old Coast shifted to a more rock-based Americana sound and began writing songs for their follow-up album. Though not yet confirmed, Old Coast is looking to enter the studio to begin recording their second full-length album this winter.
