Old Man's Bones

Years ago, back in the 1970's I lived my life for open mic nights at folk and blues clubs, performing my own acoustic rock as a solo act. Sometimes I’d get a paid gig, but it was mainly just for the love of it and I worked any job I could get just to keep going. All I wanted to do was play, write songs and sing them to whoever would listen!!! and that hasn't changed one bit.
As life moved on, and I worked my way, providing for my wife and babies I never stopped writing or playing and trying to record; just for the love of it. Of course my material changed as new life experience gave me new songs.

I’ve never sat down to write a song, they just come out in minutes, but arranging, recording, mixing and mastering them takes, days, weeks, months even. Some of the songs on "Old Man's Bones" are new and some are much older. "Another World" was written in 1980, it's a song to my beautiful, trusting young wife to "be careful out there. "As the whisper fades is new and is my reflection on the longevity of love.

I retired and was blissfully living the old man's dream of 5G; Grandkids, Guitars, Golf, Gym and Gin!!! Then came the pandemic and lockdown, I had to shield and thought if not now when?

I truly hope that my music brings you something, this is the first of at least three Albums, I'm planning the second now and I plan to call it Firebird: "Firebirds must fly , Every firebird must catch the light, Every firebird must fly, Every firebird must touch, must touch the sky"
