Ology, begun as a Rap group in 1995, it then morphed into Trip-Hop in the early 2k's. The project then saw a brief hiatus, and most recently has resurfaced to once again begin releasing new works. After taking a sabbatical, Ology returns with music that tips its hat to the musical legends who inspired their artistic identity. The work feels like a love letter to the artists who left a lasting mark on Ology’s creative spirit.
Ology’s latest works are a mix of several styles of music. Each track consists of a variation of music genres that may seem familiar at first. However, the delivery and spin on that sound suddenly transform it into a unique interpretation, creating what is now Ology’s latest persona. It’s Ology’s way of showing dedication to their artistic expression and their desire to craft a unified yet diverse body of work.
“If you could imagine having the same type of food every time you eat, you would most certainly grow tired of it after a while. So why stick with one genre as an artist? The art of creating music should never be marginalized or subjected to arbitrary and antiquated concepts. We have the tools and the ability to control our own sound. So as an artist, I follow my curiosities and see where they lead.” – Ology
