Olu Bliss is A Nigerian-born, singer/songwriter. Olu possesses an honest, gentle, and melodic sound that merges elements of alt. rock, blues, pop & r&b. With acts like John Mayer, D'Angelo, Local Natives, Coldplay & Maxwell amongst his wide range of influences, he is forging a soulful path of his own. After his debut release “Traveling Bliss”, a 5-song offering, Olu partnered up with Airbnb to create “The Bliss House sessions”, an intimate concert and music therapy experience.
In 2020 he released his E.P "Slum Sonata" - a self-reflective, intimate music composition with 4 movements that drift through expressions of self-worth. A journey to overcoming misery, ending with an optimistic discovery.
"Sun Sonata" its brighter counterpart is an intentional effort to amplify joy and channel the nostalgic, feel-good essence of the 1970s in 2021. Add that to Olu’s appreciation for American producer and music legend Nile Rogers, and it sets the tone for a very groovy listening experience. Recorded at the height of 2020, The EP inspired by the retro soul, funk, and disco stylings of the late 1970s.
